conversation about a Hundertwasser minisheet commemorating both
WIPA and Hundertwasser’s 80th birthday was initiated with Dr. Erich Haas, Director
of the Austrian Post Office AG. Dr. Haas was very open to the idea
and requested suggestions for the design as well as the approval
of Joram Harel, Executive Manager of the Hundertwasser Foundation
in Vienna.
The approval came quickly:
The following two proposals were presented to Dr. Haas at the 2006 German and Austrian Philatelists’ Day in Bad Reichenhall, October 6-8, 2006 http://www.voeph.at/userpics/briefmarke/briefmarkeaktuell_200611.pdf :
Dr. Haas chose the proposalwith
all four drafts. Shortly thereafter, Prof. Wolfgang Seidel got to
work:
